It is a licensed agency with employee caregivers and a registered nurse on staff for supervision, and it is not a franchise. Its Fremont office serves Alameda County, including Fremont, Newark, Union City, Hayward, Pleasanton and Livermore. Services include companion and personal care, Alzheimer's and dementia care, respite care (including as a partner in Medicare's GUIDE program for dementia), hospice support, hospital-to-home care, care management, veterans care and transportation. Familiar Surroundings accepts long-term care insurance and helps veterans with VA benefits.
