On the way to the hospital for Mom's transition to rehab, I found out rehab would only take her if someone was with her 24/7!! Of course I said ok - tho I certainly wasn't prepared or packed for a month - or even an overnight - at rehab. I called the caregiving service her assisted living facility had recommended some months before and asked if they could cover Fullerton (40 minutes from her assisted living facility, without traffic) and Maria said yes. Then I asked if there might be anyone who could start that night - 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 2 or 3am...so I could leave. I said MIGHT because I've learned things change. Around 7:30pm I let her know we were on the move to rehab, and she had someone there before 11pm. I left til morning, then had them cover night again. I later learned that Fullerton really was not convenient for the caregiver, but Maria made sure they got there and even brought breakfast in the morning. As the days went on and Mom's living facility asked me to move her to another wing, I asked American Care about covering some days too, and they did. I lived 200 miles away and had anticipated a 4-day visit that turned into 35! I was overwhelmed and managing day by day, Maria was always gracious about me asking last minute to extend, and reached out to me a couple times when she hadn't heard from me by the day the assignment was ending. She'd check with me before booking the caregivers for a different assignment the following week - because she understood that with dementia, consistency is important. For this reason, we kept the caregivers with Mom when she returned to her facility. I imagine Maria sensed my desperation and exhaustion, and she gave me a good deal since I was using them around the clock. All the caregivers were wonderful and loving and engaged, but I have to tell you about May. May ended up being Mom's daytime caregiver and Mom got ATTACHED. When May entered the room, Mom smiled and looked like she was in love (never mind me busting my butt the last year, driving miles every week for one hospitalization after another :-p). Mom is very resistant and difficult, fought all the caregivers in rehab and back at her living facility, but May....May could get her to do anything. I called her the Mom Whisperer. We thought Mom was ready to say goodbye to this world, but May had her up and walking and sitting in the sun and smiling....She helped Mom make phone calls, texted me photos, and let me know when any supplies were low. She treated my mother with true love, like her own flesh and blood. On top of that, she cooked and brought food for the other caregiver and even brought food for US! She bought my mom things that would help with her own money and refused to let me reimburse her. She's just a truly caring person. We eventually moved Mom closer to me, and May was even willing to prepare meals ahead for her family in order to stay with Mom for a bit when we moved her closer to me. May she still texts me, asking about Mom (and me, and my husband) and sending photos of Mom's friends who want to say hi to her. American Care saved me in a time of confusion, desperation, and exhaustion.

Please be aware of American Care Service Inc, in Cerritos CA. I used American Care Services for hospice care for my mother in law. The caregivers we wonderful to my mother in law in her time of need for 24/7 care. They also helped me thru a difficult time when I lost my mother in law. As the final invoice was sent to me I sent a check for the final payment. Check was deposited in American Care Service account. I was then called by the account representative the same day check was deposited. "stating their bank had advised that if my check bounced, their bank would not reimburse American Care Services for the funds" The check was given back to the account representative, but keep in mind their bank ran the check as a deposit and cleared my account 1st check. Even though the bank did not have a physical check they still cleared the check without me knowing. So I thought American Care Services need to be paid, I asked the representative to bring the 1st check back and I will write you a new check under another account. Representative deposited 2nd check and I check my account the next day and both checks have cleared to pay the one invoice. I was in contact with the representative, (yes, I should of been calling the company) and I have been given every excuse as to why they cannot return my money this has been going on for a month. I called my bank and was told by an account representative. that this is fraud. I also been told by the account representative at American Care Services its out of his hands It's in some other departments hand. I have asked for names and phone numbers with no luck. This issue has now gone on for a month. Yes, I was naïve and should of handled the situation sooner. Please be aware when choosing American Care Services, Inc. for care for your love ones.

American care services were able to place a caregiver in the home very quickly when I called for my brother-in-law. Sayeda was always available to hear my concerns and was diligent in making the experience easy and accessible for us. I would highly recommend this service!

It was a big relief to find American Care Services. Every person they have sent to me has been kind, knowledgeable, and professional. Knowing my mom is in such good hands gives me a lot of peace.
