Adara Home Health, formerly Prairie River Home Care, is a Medicare-certified home health agency headquartered in Buffalo, Minnesota. Founded in 1989 as Prairie River Inc., it became Medicare-certified in 1996 and became Adara Home Health in January 2019, and today serves 60 of Minnesota's 87 counties through seven branch offices. Its St. Cloud office serves Douglas, Todd, Morrison, Traverse, Stevens, Pope, Stearns, Benton and western Sherburne counties, including St. Cloud, Sartell, Waite Park, Richmond, Cold Spring, Paynesville, Rice, Little Falls, Avon and Foley. RNs and LPNs provide skilled nursing visits, alongside physical, occupational and speech therapy, home health aides, companion and homemaking care, and pediatric home care, with specialties in hospital discharge, chronic care, wound care, medication management and fall prevention. I was in need of nursing services. When I first contacted Adara, I was erroneously told they didn't take my insurance and would help me find another company. That did not happen. I found out that they do take my insurance so I called back. I was cut off by the intake person rudely saying, "We don't have staff for the amount of nursing you would need." I assured the intake person I only needed someone to start my IV and I could take it from there. Once again I was met with rudeness and told, "We can't do that." I did extract that they don't have anyone, which I find difficult to believe as they had people a few weeks ago when my insurance supposedly wasn't accepted. I asked if I could go on a waitlist and once again was met with rudeness. They don't have a wait list, don't bother to call back. Anyway, it's fine if you don't have nursing or more likely that you won't make enough money off of my insurance to make it worth your while, but it costs nothing to be kind. Or have compassion. The intake person could probably use a crash course in customer service manners. There are better ways to handle the situation.

I was severely injured in a not-my-fault car accident and required 4 months of in-home physical and occupational therapy, and skilled nursing care after my hospital discharge. Adara Home Health was contracted and provided excellent in-home health care. The therapists were very attentive to the actions required to progress and prepare me for out-patient care, and the nurses provided care to get me through the 4 months and were able to deal with and resolve health issues that I experienced. I highly recommend Adara Home Health as their people understand the care required and have a serious attitude to provide that care and handle issues that come up during treatment.
