Adara Home Health, formerly Prairie River Home Care, is a Medicare-certified home health agency headquartered in Buffalo, Minnesota. Founded in 1989 as Prairie River Inc., it became Medicare-certified in 1996 and became Adara Home Health in January 2019, and today serves 60 of Minnesota's 87 counties through seven branch offices. Its Rochester office serves eastern Dakota, Goodhue, Wabasha, Dodge, Olmsted, Winona, Mower, Fillmore and Houston counties, including Rochester, Stewartville, Byron, Dodge Center, Winona, Red Wing, Lake City, Kasson, Zumbrota, Pine Island and St. Charles. RNs and LPNs provide skilled nursing visits, alongside physical, occupational and speech therapy, home health aides, companion and homemaking care, and pediatric home care, with specialties in hospital discharge, chronic care, wound care, medication management and fall prevention. Adara works with Medicare and Medicare Advantage, Medicaid and waiver programs, veterans benefits, many private insurers, workers' compensation and private pay.

After a recent back surgery the medical staff gave me the option of going to a nursing home for a few weeks or signing on with a Home Health program. They randomly assigned me to Adara. Since I live alone it was obvious that I would need help with the transition to home life. Adara's Home Health nurses monitored my vital signs and regularly monitored the healing of my incision site. Adara's Occupational Therapists taught me how to dress myself, get in and out of bed, and accomplish the basic daily activities of life. The Physical Therapists taught me daily stretch exercises to regain my strength and mobility. ALL of them were very professional, thorough, and pleasant to work with. I attribute my excellent recovery to the help they gave me and would absolutely recommend Adara to anyone who needs Home Health Care.

They were sympathetic to my situation and accommodating to my need to reschedule appointments. McKenzie and Kathleen provided me with plans that got me going in the right direction and that would be on towards the golf course! :)

I’ve had a very difficult surgery recovery, and they have been key to the progress that I am making. They are worth all five stars, and I don’t often give a five star rating.
